Scuba isn't just a hobby; it’s a culture. 

For a long time, I felt like dive wear was split into two camps: loud slogans or purely technical gear. I wanted something different - everyday clothing that mirrored the laid-back soul of skate and surf culture but belonged entirely to the Deep. Clothing that I could live in and feel represented by. I wanted pieces that felt like a quiet nod to the scuba community that knows: once you’ve been under, you’re never truly dry.

Born in the Channel, Raised by the Sea

I’m Jade - a PADI Divemaster with 20 years of salt in my veins, and I am Folkestone, Kent born and bred!

I’ve spent a decade travelling - including three years exploring the coastlines of New Zealand, two years in the tropical waters of Thailand, nine months trekking and diving through Malaysia, Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. Whether it was the remote shores of Samoa and Fiji or the cold-water wonders of Scotland and the Isles of Scilly, every mile travelled has deepened my personal commitment to marine conservation.

But no matter how far I went, the rugged beauty of the South-East English Coast has always called me back. This coastline is my home, and Driftwood Deep was born from the bridge between those global reefs and these local shores.

A Personal Mission for the Blue

My time in the water has given me more than just memories; it’s given me a deep sense of responsibility. I’ve seen firsthand how fragile our underwater worlds are, and marine conservation has become my passion.

During my years in New Zealand, this passion deepened through the Māori value of Kaitiakitanga - the sacred duty of guardianship. It taught me that we aren't just visitors in the ocean; we are its protectors.

Gear with a Purpose

That’s why Driftwood Deep is about more than just looking good on the boat. It’s about being an active part of the solution. I’m dedicated to using this platform to support ocean health - whether that’s through encouraging citizen science with the Coral Health Field Guide or simply creating a community that respects the water as much as they enjoy it.
